RandstadRail (white-blue trams)

Randstadrail rijdt bij station Den Haag Centraal

HTM has been operating the Citadis-type RandstadRail tram since 2006.

RandstadRail connects the city centres of The Hague, Rotterdam and Zoetermeer with various rail connections from different carriers. HTM's RandstadRail runs quickly and easily from The Hague to Zoetermeer. RET's RandstadRail (metro line E) gets passengers from The Hague Central Station to Rotterdam quickly.

RandstadRail is a modern low-floor tram, making it accessible for the disabled and travellers with prams. It is even possible to bring a bicycle (free of charge) on weekdays after 7pm and at weekends.

In the RandstadRail tram, the tram driver sits in an enclosed cabin. This allows the driver to fully focus on driving safely and on time. All trams are fitted with ticket machines.

The RandstadRail tram operates on the route of trams 3, 4 and 34. On the route of trams 2 and 19, the RandstadRail tram operates as a city tram, and on line 2 it alternates with the Avenio tram. This means comfortable travel from Zoetermeer to The Hague and from Leidschendam to Delft.

All HTM RandstadRail trams have:

  • A wide level boarding
  • Benches in 2 Toes
  • 5 wide boarding doors (level with the stop)
  • 2 spaces for wheelchairs, rollators and/or bicycles
  • Ticket vending machine
  • If you travel in a wheelchair or mobility scooter, please also
