Damage caused by accident or collision

When damage occurs, regardless of who is at fault, you will always receive an exchange bill from the bus driver or streetcar driver. This contains all the information needed to send a claim form to HTM or the insurance company.

HTM employees may not admit guilt or promise compensation on the spot. If they do, you cannot derive any rights from this.

What is the situation?

Damage incurred: what can you do?

If you are damaged in or by an HTM vehicle, there are a few things you can do to ensure proper data exchange:

  • If you sustain damage, notify the driver/driver immediately. Ask for a completed exchange slip containing all the data needed for further claims handling. You are entitled to this. If for some reason you did not receive a form, try to include as much information as possible: tram/bus line, time, location, direction and if possible also a (four-digit) tram/(three-digit) bus number.
  • Do you have damage to your vehicle and are you all-risk insured? Report the damage directly to your insurer. They will handle the damage for you.
  • Are you only third-party insured or have you sustained personal injury? Report the damage directly to HTM. Please use one of the contact options below. Always include the details on the exchange bill you received. For careful handling, include a detailed description of what happened. A situation sketch is not necessary, but is always allowed.
