To make your journey as comfortable as possible, a number of house rules apply in HTM's vehicles. In addition to the general house rules, it is also good to know:

  • Ticket machine - Buy a separate ticket from the ticket machine in the tram. You can pay contactless here. You can buy a maximum of 5 tickets at a time.
  • Stop button - Press the stop button when you want to get off, the tram driver will stop at the next stop. Note: RandstadRail trams (lines 3, 4 and 34) stop at every stop. On these trams, you do not need to press the stop button.

Rules GTL (line 1, 6, 12)

Bicycle - No bicycles are allowed on the GTL.

Rollator and buggy - This tram has space for a maximum of 2 rollators or buggies. This spot is marked with a recognisable sticker and can be found in the middle of the tram. Travellers with rollators have priority.

Priority seats - In every GTL tram, a number of seats are reserved for disabled, elderly and pregnant women. These spots are marked with a recognisable sticker and can be found behind the tram driver, at the front of the tram.

Rules Avenio (line 2, 9, 11, 15, 16 and 17)

Bicycles - Bicycles are not allowed on the Avenio.

Entrance for passengers with mobility problems - The 2nd or 4th doors have an extra-wide entrance. Passengers can sit on the folding seats and keep the rollator or buggy in front of them.

Place for travellers with wheelchairs - Enter through the 3rd door in the middle of the tram, opposite the door is the place for travellers in wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Place the wheelchair or mobility scooter with its back facing the direction of travel against the vertical board. A safety belt is provided.

Rules RandstadRail (line 3, 4 and 34)

Bicycle - Bicycles are allowed on RandstadRail trams after 7pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Priority seating - In every RandstadRail tram, a number of seats are reserved for passengers with rollators, wheelchairs/scoot mobiles, bicycles, the disabled, the elderly and pregnant women. You can use the valance belt. These seats are located between doors 1 and 2 and between doors 4 and 5.
